The Blitz Party
RUN FOR SHELTER – A NIGHT OF FORTIES FASHION AND FROLICS
The Blitz Party is a fantastic 1940s night just brimming with community spirit. Taking place at the The Arches in Shoreditch, this event promises the finest 1940s music and dancing. The venue is transformed into a wartime East End air-raid shelter, complete with sandbags, searchlights, blackout curtains, oil lamps and military bunk beds. Ration books replace bar menus and scarce provisions line the walls.

The Blitz Party plays host to the UK’s finest live swing bands, performers and DJs. Favourites include, Ta Mere and Twin Tonic who play big band tunes for fun-loving party girls longing to share a cocktail with a handsome man in uniform. The Spitfire Bar serves good old Kentish Ale and hearty food to hungry soldiers whilst another room projects original newsreels and wartime films, accompanied by live music.
